Working first with DARPA starting in 1996 and continuing on to contracts with the Royal Australian Air Force and cooperative agreements with Naval Air Systems Command and the U.S. Marine Corps, ANPC has developed the capability to package surveillance and guidance functionality into mobile systems suited for expeditionary operations in austere environments. The TTLS can provide both ILS guidance and a graphical display of the three dimensional aircraft position information in azimuth and elevation format, matching the performance of a Precision Approach Radar (PAR) system. A controller trained as a PAR operator uses this display and ground to air communications radio to guide non-ILS equipped aircraft.
To date, all military milestones have been met on time and within original budget estimations, with turnaround times as low as four months from contract signature to system delivery. ANPC continues to expand the functionality and interoperability of these systems in cooperation with the U.S. Armed Forces.
